Factory GTLM machinery rolled out of the transporters on a grey Monterey morning. The Coca-Cola 911 RSR — Tandy, Pilet, Makowiecki above the door — sits mid-engined and impossibly wide on white centre-locks, that full-width PORSCHE wing swallowing the frame. Behind it the BMW M8 GTE in Motorsport blue and red, carbon splitter scraping the tarmac, twin pipes venting through the sill. No ropes, no stage lighting, just crew pushing million-dollar race cars across gravel before the crowds arrive.
