200SI

A works-bodied 200SI idling on the drive outside The Lodge at Pebble Beach, red paint still wet-looking under the marine layer. Fantuzzi aluminium over a twin-cam four, knock-off wire wheels, a single aero screen and a cockpit that is mostly bare metal, red leather and a wood-rimmed wheel. Fewer than thirty were built for privateer sports car racing, and this one still gets driven to where it is parked — which is the whole point.
