Sabre

One of only fifteen McLaren Sabres, caught head-on in the middle of Ocean Avenue in Carmel with the crowd pressed to the curb. MSO built it for the US market alone — 824 horsepower from the twin-turbo V8, the most powerful two-seat road car McLaren had made at the time. This one wears papaya over exposed carbon with electric blue pinstriping and Bruce McLaren's signature on the rear haunch. Shot straight down the road, then in profile against the white stucco of L'Auberge, and tight on the front splitter where the blue line traces the aero.
