Huayra BC Macchina Volante

One of one. The Huayra BC 'Macchina Volante' — flying machine — finished in blue carbon fading through violet under overcast light, trimmed in electric blue right down to the wheel lips, the rear grille cage and the quad titanium tips. I caught it rolling off the JPL transporter with the lift gate still raised over it like a hangar door, then followed it through the morning: head-on with the gullwing up and that single blue-and-white stripe running the length of the carbon nose, the taillight cluster nested in exposed weave against clipped grass, the headlamp pods reflecting the crowd back in blue. The closer is the one I'd been waiting for — the BC and a Zonda running the cable-stayed bridge, the road blurring out under a heavy sky.
